CASE STUDY | TORNADO
Elliott Richardson farms sheep and crops about 10km south of Gnowangerup in Western Australia. Switching to a Duraquip Tornado changed how his family handles filling the air seeder.

Before the Tornado, Elliott’s family used a six-wheel truck with a seed and super spreader divider, backing it up to the auger and tipping it up each time.
“It was just a slow, cumbersome process.”
Quicker, easier, safer
With the Tornado, they can now get two fills of the air cart out of one truckload.
“The Tornado’s just made it a lot quicker and easier. We can get two fills of the air cart out of the truck, which makes us a lot more efficient.”
“It’s made it quick and easy, and safe as well, which has been great.”

A 20 to 30 year investment
“Duraquip and the Tornado have got a very good reputation of being a good product. Been a good investment. It’s something that’s going to last for 20, 30 years. I don’t think we’ll have to worry about it again, until I’m gone anyway. I’d recommend it to anyone.”
Useful all year round
Elliott’s family uses the Tornado beyond seeding too, at harvest, for putting sheep feed into silos, and for running loads into town. He also points to the side discharge as a benefit, since it means they’re not backing up to an auger.
“They’re a simple, easy bit of kit. Very useful, not just for seeding. It’s easy and simple to use, and we use it all year.”
